NanoFocus signs marketing agreement with OLYMPUS

Oberhausen-based nanotech supplier NanoFocus AG signs marketing cooperation deal with OLYMPUS (Japan). The agreement covers the introduction and distribution of the patented NanoFocus cylinder inspection system (µsurf cylinder) in the Japanese motor industry.   Immediately following the beginning of the agreement, the first order was received from a Japanese Blue Chip customer.

NanoFocus AG signs a marketing agreement with the OLYMPUS CORPORATION, the world-renowned optics company and supplier to the Japanese motor industry.

NanoFocus has, together with a key user in the German motor industry, developed 3D surface analysis systems for inspecting state-of-the-art aluminium-silicon engines to a level ready for marketing. The superior quality and high efficiency of the systems has already been confirmed by follow-up sales by German car manufacturers. The cylinder product has been used thus far to verify future production lines and is to be integrated further into the production process.

Strategic and long-term partnership

This is a strategic partnership which was already underway last year: Training of partners, joint trade fair presentations, the purchase of demonstrations devices and the introduction at Olympus have already occurred. Moreover, presentations have been held at leading Japanese automobile companies. NanoFocus, one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturer of 3D analysis tools, also offers and individual and high-quality industry solution.

First reference user in Japan

The successful sale of the cylinder product to a leading Japanese automobile group was particularly important. This reference application is of decisive importance in ensuring an effective and long-term market entry in the engine industry.

Alusil trends

In the framework of the sustainability assessment, light-weight and nevertheless low-wearing aluminium-silicon engines are becoming increasingly important. The motor industry’s innovation leaders have recognized this and are thereby making a decisive contribution to the environmental compatibility of modern engines. NanoFocus provides the quality assurance and process optimisation tools for this construction method.

Consistent implementation of the NanoFocus marketing strategy

“The agreement with Olympus is an important strategic step towards the consistent implementation of the NanoFocus marketing strategy: Together with another renowned German automobile manufacturer, this NanoFocus business solution has been developed to a stage where it is now ready for marketing. We are aiming to open up even greater potential, through the continuous further development of the device, which enables the automatic complete inspection in the engine production industry,” summed up Dr. Hans Hermann Schreier, CEO of NanoFocus AG.
