NanoFocus AG exhibits 3D surface measurement technology for product development and quality control
In medical technology, a precise knowledge of the surface characteristics of components is indispensable in production and development. NanoFocus exhibits custom-fit measurement solutions for the medical technology industry at MedTec in hall 5/ booth 5A26.
The measurement systems of NanoFocus are used by numerous manufacturers in medical technology where they make a decisive contribution to the development of new products, the optimization of production methods and to reliable quality assurance. Possible measurement tasks range from wear analyses of dental replica, roughness measurements of joint implants or medical tubes, form precision of blood sensors and micro fluidic modules to the inspection of stents.
The patented technology allows non-contact measurements of polished or transparent surfaces, coatings and steep slopes, as well as roughness measurements according to DIN EN ISO. Accurately reproducing the profile of ultrafine roughness structures is a central quality criterion of the confocal measurement technology developed by NanoFocus. Maximum reliability of the measurement results is guaranteed by high resolution and reproducibility.
In contrast to the scanning electron microscope (SEM), quality monitoring can take place directly during the manufacturing process, and also be automated. Furthermore, it is possible to describe three-dimensional properties of the surfaces which cannot be definitively quantified using two-dimensional characteristic values alone. Measurement results obtained by optical metrology correlate verifiably with tactile measurements.
NanoFocus offers compact measurement systems for use in development and test laboratories as well as inline-inspection systems designed for high throughput-rates.
