Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH becomes subsidiary of NanoFocus

The specialist for automated production metrology expands the customer and product portfolio of NanoFocus AG

Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH became a 100%  subsidiary of NanoFocus AG, developer and manufacturer of 3D surface metrology, as part of a successorship on November 11, 2015. Breitmeier, an innovative niche supplier of optical and tactile inspection systems, adds to the existing product portfolio of the NanoFocus Group.

A decisive factor for the acquisition was the fact that the products and technologies of the two companies are mutually complementary. Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH mainly provides manufacturers and suppliers in the commercial vehicle sector with automated inspection solutions. “Combining both technologies, we can now offer a unique fully automated inspection solution for the power train sector.” says Jürgen Valentin, Chief Technology Officer of NanoFocus AG.

Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH will appear as "Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH - a NanoFocus Company" in the future. “I am pleased to announce that we have found a competent partner in NanoFocus AG and that Breitmeier Messtechnik GmbH's continuation is now secured through the acquisition. Customers and business partners can continue to rely on dependable assistance as well as our long-term support”, says Dr. U. Breitmeier, the company’s founder. He will continue to be available in the coming months in an advisory position.

Access to the commercial vehicle market is furthermore very interesting for NanoFocus. “Following the acquisition, our Business Unit Automotive will be further expanded as planned.” adds Joachim Sorg, Chief Financial Officer of NanoFocus AG.

The closing of the acquisition is scheduled for mid-December 2015.
