Expert competence in optical 3D measurement technology
Since 1994 NanoFocus AG develops, produces and distributes optical 3D measurement technology for use in industry and laboratories. In 1998 the company introduced the first generation of µsurf-systems to the market - the first industrially applicable confocal microscope for the analysis of technical surfaces. These and other NanoFocus technologies, continously further developed, are today state-of-the-art in industrial surface measurement technology and have become indispensable in many industrial sectors.
Focus on research and development
An interdisciplinary team of experts from the fields of optics, electronics, CAD construction, software development and facility design stands behind our technological edge and the continuous improvement of our 3D measurement systems. About one third of the NanoFocus staff is working in research and development. NanoFocus is also involved in numerous research cooperations with Institutions such as Physikalisch Technischen Bundesanstalt (PTB), Karlsruhe Insitute of Technology, the University of Aachen and different Fraunhofer Institutes. This intensive research results in high quality measurement technology and a professional patent management with 57 patents and industrial property rights. Amongst those are basic patents and application patents as well as the software.
Long-term successful industrial partnerships with renowned companies, such as ThyssenKrupp AG, Daimler AG, BMW AG and Volkswagen AG, NanoFocus has intensified its know-how in the area of production-oriented measurement technology.
Our know-how not only secures our ability to innovate, it strengthens the position of NanoFocus as a provider of solutions. Internal ressources are apt to respond individually to customer demands and requirements of an industry in terms of development and production of the hard- and software. This close cooperation with our customers leads to unique industrial measurement solutions – from the integration of a sensor to the assembly of a high-end work station. It also turns industry-specific solutions to stands for particular applications. Production processes of solar cells, the analysis of cutting-edges or the development and optimization of engine cylinders are only some examples.
